10 months old

Andrea knows alot of things now.
1.She can sign "Book" and Clap her hands when we ask her to do so.
2.Andrea is able to stand without support for 1 min.
3.She can Say words like "A", "O" and "R".
4.She can Look for things that we ask her to, for instance where is "TOMMY?" (kim bought it for me from the US, rugrats) or where is "Micky Mouse?".
5.Andrea can also identify words when we put three flash card side by side and ask her, for instance which is the "BED".

Andrea slipped today when she was crawling. Her bottom two teeth bleed the upper lips. Poor thing, i put ice on it and she seems to enjoy licking the ice! haha.. but only for 2 min... keke

Sign Bye-Bye

Andrea know how to sign bye-bye just two days ago. I know it's abit slow if compared to other kid but this is a new achievement and i am very proud of her. She waived bye-bye very vigorously most of the time, hence she made everyone laugh when she does that!

We had a weekend escapade at Le Meridian Hotel, it was not very enjoyable because the room is small and the bed and pillow is not very comfortable. However, it's a good experience and we enjoy the time spent, just the three of us. Andrea waived to the kwai lo next to our table, me and hubby was very surprise and enjoy watching her to be this friendly. However, when an ASIAN looking man came and say hello, she cried immediately. I am surprise that baby can recognise people by colour, haha. How amazing!

In the evening, I was told by emelyn that andrea had a diarrhea. I am very worried. I suspect its the yogurt that i have fed her this morning. Mum helped me to check on her diaper after she slept (1 hour later after her watery poo), luckly we didn't see any poo. I will check again later when I'm going to bed, just to be sure and i shall bring her to hospital if this still occurs! Poor Baby.. i feel so sorry to give the yogurt to her now :( Hope she will get well soon.

Food Food here i come

Andrea is very eager to eat at all times.

1. Emelyn was preparing andrea's cereal and she has excess sweet potato for me to eat. I was carrying andrea and she wants to have a bite too. The sweet potato is quite hot and i let her bite in small mouth. Later i sat on the sofa and forgotten that the potato is hot, andrea munch the whole piece off! then i saw her hand shivering/ shaking. I then tried to open her mouth and she started to cry. I dunno if i have burn her lips/ tongue/ throat. But she seems okay when having the cereal. finger crossed!

2.She would sometimes get choked when she eats biscuit. Mum said other babies were fed by adults but i think to let Andrea hold on her own will improve her motor skills. So far she got choked 2 times.

3.She would often get choked when drinking water. she doesn't like to drink from bottle, hence we have feed her water using cups. She is still learning and i hope she will stop choking soon.

Bored...

I'm feeling so bored at home. This morning we brought Andrea to Giant and I went to Kajang in the afternoon with Thomas. Our Kajang Studio has rent out to an arabian for Rm350 per month. I'm glad that the studio had rented out and now we have fixed Rm350 into our joint account! 

Most of the time i go online and i only spend little time to play with Andrea. It is because i feel very tired where i have to chase after Andrea and she is too active to me. I dun have such energy for her. I usually read to her, lie down and talk to her and to put her to sleep. I rarely play with her for a long time because i always feel tired half way playing with her. 

I'm wondering what else i can do than sleep. I have ate so much and sleep too much! Gosh, my life is imbalance!! 

SATISFIED!

I went and collect my offer letter just now! Richard gave me 21% increase from my last pay in IBM. What a relieve and joy. I promised myself to work hard and contribute all that i can to this department and SHINE!! No more complaints and hatred. New and Happy beginning!! 

I can Climb down the stairs

Andrea started to Climb down the stairs yesterday. Grandmother had taught her for about a month and only yesterday she managed to climb down herself!

Andrea now knows how to play 'dim chung chung', when we say that, she will sign! Everyone is so exicted when she does that. She will climb to me when i start to read her Three Little Pigs story books. I hope she can read and do "Huff" & "Puff" soon.

These few nights she woke up crying, i switch on the light and ask her why. She do not want to tell me and keep on crying, thus i went down to make her milk. She can sign a few things now and she just do not want to sign milk!! Feel very frustrated when she cries and i do not understand her. Hope she is able to tell me what she wants.

I can see Light!!

After such a long wait, i have finally gotten a respond from IBM. HR called and said the document will be ready by next week, if i have not hear from her by wednesday i can call her to find out. Phew... at last i know that i have got a job!! I went out to destress myself yesterday and i have spend about 1.5K!! This proofs how stressful i am!!

First i went to MNG and bought myself a dress. I have an appointment with Origin for Facial, hence i walk over to the Gardens. Since i still have sometime, i went to mossimo dutti & Banana Republic, but i couldn't find anything nice. I had my facial at 12.30pm and finished at 2pm. I walk straight to MotherCare to buy Andrea's potty & go down to zara and bought myself a pair of shoes. On the way, i stop by Best Denki & Harvey Norman to check out the Toshiba rice cooker. However it was out of stock. Before i reach the escalator to my car, i spotted the Gucci sunnies that i wanted to by at Aurthers! I went into the shop and asked about the price, they have 30%!! I was so excited and bought a pair of sunnies. Arthurs only have 20%. After that i went straight home

I was feeling very happy after the shopping spree, this is because IBM HR called me when i was at harvey norman, and everything seems very favourable after that. I am going to prepare myself & pamper myself before i start working. I need to start fresh and feel energetic to start a new Job!!

At the Cross Road

I was feeling pretty low these few weeks. In results of that, my milk supply drop dramatically. Andrea can no longer have breast milk till 10 months. She is on formula + breast milk now. By next week she will be fully on formula milk.

Life is full of sorrows and uncertainty. I have no idea how to throw these negative feelings out of my mind. I have tried chanting and it does helped to relieve me but it still hit on me really badly on and off. Life and work ... I hope that i can get what i want .. Shed some light pls...

White Sprout!

Yes! Andrea started Teething! Finally at 8 months 2 weeks we are able to see the white sprout! Hubby was very excited and kept letting Andrea to bite his finger. Thank God she was not too cranky at night.

She learnt to climb up the stairs at 8 months 3 weeks. 4- 5 times a day, her grandmother was complaining how she got those strength! Andrea do not know how to walk on her own yet. Still anticipating...

Today Andrea is at 9 month 1 day. This morning was very cranky, until i chant nam myo ho ren ge kyo only she can fall asleep peacefully at 10.30am. Hopefully she will feel alright when she wakes up later. Andrea is very heavy now, i barely can carry her for more than 15 min, my hands are numb! But it's a good milestone :)

Toys Toys Toys!

Hubby and I have been buying alot of Toys for Andrea recently. Andrea does not have many toys last time because I don't think she knows how to play it yet. When she hit 8 months, we have bought 5 new Fisher Price toys from Isetan, Jusco & Toys R Us. The good thing is, it's all sale item except for the stride to ride walker from Toys R Us. I don't recommend to buy toys from Toys R Us as their price is steep and often no discount.

Andrea loves her toys & begining to learn Shapes, ABC and follow moving objects! We live in two houses, Weekday at my mum place and Weekends at my own place. Hence, she plays different toys on weekday & Weekend. I'm Glad that i do not have to work on weekends, I play with her and she enjoys the musical Chair, moving train carrying animals and reading.

NURY INSTITUTE

I've attended a 2 day course with hubby last weekend. It was very tiring because it was a full day course, from 9am - 6pm. Basically i feel that i did not have time to rest at all for the weekend and makes me feel demotivated to go to work on the following monday! However, i am glad that i did attend the course because it brings so much insight on how to bring up a child & have an in-depth understanding of child development.

NURY was introduced by a malay ex-colleague, her sister attended this course because her son had a brain injury. NURY institute mainly deal with brain injured child, in our class 80% of the parents had a special kid. My mum also had attended Dato' Dr. Noor Laily class 20 years ago when she was with DBKL for free. My mum encouraged me to go because she finds it very useful because the method works on my youngest sister.

Dato' Dr. Noor Laily uses Glenn Doman's method for child reading development & also his research/ studies for a child's milestone development. Besides, Dr. also talked about children's exercise and food. I would really recommend new parents to attend so that they could prepare and give the best to their child! An intelligent child can be trained & i believe with the knowledge we have, we are able to help our children to excel in studies without any difficulties.

Andrea is signing!

I attended baby sign when andrea is 4 months. My mum and I attended it together & the session was FUN! The instructor thought us everything that we should know. The course comes with a book & DVD (introduction). I bought another 6 series of DVD after 1 week of the course because I think by watching DVD, Andrea could learn faster! Jamie is a certified Baby Sign instructor, she brings this program all the way from the US!

I came to know about baby sign when Andrea was 2 months old. Coincidently the baby sign language booth was there for the week & i've got to know it when i brought andrea for her monthly checkup at DSH. I wasn't too keen back then because i have not heard of anyone attended this course. Later when andrea is about 4 months, a friend of mine mentioned that her daughter is signing, and she mentioned about the advantages of baby sign. Therefore, it encourages me to attend.

Andrea signs at 8 months 2 days! I was so excited to see her sign 'MILK'. It was very fascinating watching her sign & I keep on asking her to sign until she do not want to sign to me anymore after 2 days. Now, after 2 weeks, she sign 'MILK' occasionally when i ask her or when she is drinking milk. At this point of time, 8 months 2 weeks, she can do 'HURRAY' last 3 days! I am anticipating to see more in the next few weeks.

Pregnancy

My girl turned 8 months 2 days ago. She was with me 1 year 5 months since i missed my menses last year. Still remembering the excitement i had holding the clearblue stick showing my husband and was quite doubtful on the other side because my menses are irregular. I was feeling ill for the week, we went and see our family doctor few days back and gotten some medicine (i was having flu & feeling bloated i think). however the condition get worst after taking the medication. Went back to the doctor and he suggested to have a pregnancy test.

I was quite happy because we only tried for 1-2 months to have my baby, i thought i would never have a baby because of my irregular menses. Since then, i felt very sleepy all day & weak till 4 months. Luckily i was with IBM & my manager allows me to work from home half day till 4 months. Vomiting only starts from 4 months to 7 months. However i dun vomit at work, only in the evening, before and after dinner. I get free leg massage everyday for 9 months and also free ride to work from hubby. I don't always get extra service from hubby unless I'm ill (real/pretend)/ pregnant/ breastfeeding.

I had alot of depression during 9 months of pregnancy.

Month 1-3, not sure if i am ready for a child/ becoming a mum. Although i have been planning but when it hits me i am confuse. Hubby did not gave me the emotional support that i need, and i cry very often. Luckly my mum is there to comfort.

Month 4-8, get overly concern about my size and pregnancy clothing. I put on alot of weight and i look superly ugly and reluctant to take photos thoughout the pregnancy. I have problem searching for maternity clothes as i only wear certain brand clothing. This limits my choice of maternity clothes as well, because only dorothy perkins & top shop has maternity clothes. After i gave birth, zara carry maternity range as well. Hence, I'm not too worry for the next pregnancy. hehe...

Month 9, hoping my girl will pop out very soon because i feel very heavy and uncomfortable at night. My girl pop out at 38 weeks! I'm glad :)

Throughout the pregnancy, my mum make chicken essence soup & bird nest for me. That's all the good nutrient i've taken. My favourite food during pregnancy are Potatos & coke! and ice-cream Too! All fattening food huh! Anyway, I have put on 12KG in total throughout the pregnancy, i think it's ok. cos doctor did not ask me to go on diet!

Weight lost very dramatically after given birth. Lost 7 KG after 1 week, 9 KG after one month, 11 KG after two months and 13 KG after three months! I breastfed my girl and i have ALOT of milk, i think this is the reason why i lost weight this fast! I am slowing down my milk expression now, planning to stop anytime soon. My Milk storage now sufficient for another 2 months :p Hence, my girl will have breastmilk till 10 months, at least!

I had my checkup and delivery at Damansara Specialist Hospital under Suzanna Huam. I won't recommend friends to go to her as she has recommend a anaesthetist that nearly scare me to death and i think my nerve is affected due to his careless mistake. This malay anaesthetist poke me 3 times to insert the needle (epidural) and before he do it, he re-emphasize that this will cause me paralyse if he is not careful. Damn shit! where on earth doctor will say this, because i have already signed on the consent letter and he still wants me to say OK verbally to him! I lost all the confident i had in him and there it goes, three pokes & scolding from him. After second poke i asked if i can rest for awhile, he said if you wanna rest, i won't do it for you!!! I was SO HELPLESS and feeling abused! My total hospital fee cost RM5K. It was a very bad delivery experience...
