cooking rice

Benjamin is now eating rice (soft ones). This week, instead of cooking everything in one pot, i fry the ingredients separately. Andrea too eat the same with benjamin as she is still a very small eater.

Saturday - Boiled pumpkin & apples soup. This serve as the base for cooking the rice. Afternoon had fried egg, long beans & meat. Night had stir fried ginger & onion meat with long beans.

Sunday - Boiled corn soup. This serve as the base for cooking the rice. Lunch & Dinner stir fried broccoli, meat, mushroom and long beans.

My face cannot stand the heat, yesterday after cooking my face feels warm for hours despite having wash after cooking. Sunday hence will only cook once and heat up at night. Having done all these, my kids still do not eat as fast and much as i like. I have spent sometime looking and thinking what to cook during the weekend and looking at their appetite really makes me disappointed. Andrea still eats very slowly and little. Ben on the other hand, do not know what had happen in my mum house, he seems reluctant to be fed if we sound forcing. I have asked andrea's help to feed him and at least 5 mouth andrea can feed. I'm curious, he still can eat but does not like adults to feed? With my burning face, i felt annoyed by them because they don't seems to enjoy my cooking.

Strawberry Smoothies

I have tried making smoothies when my old maid was still here (beginning of the year), followed the recipe i have - some turn out to be good, some just not so nice. Last sunday, i did the smoothies on my own - follow my feelings :)

I have bought many strawberries from isetan last week, it was very cheap and very fresh! no rotten berries in it, well usually i found a few in a box. RM12.90 for one big box, only one day offer - no wonder it's so packed!

Ingredient for 2 portion:
Strawberries - 2 handful
1 Banana
Fresh Milk
3 ice cubes

Turn out to be very yummy, maybe the strawberries are very sweet too. We made strawberries smoothies for consecutive 3 days! Andrea is happy, Mummy is happy!

Ben's 1st Taste - 2

I have made cauliflower + broccoli for his cereal last week. He likes it alot, I'm really amaze, despite the strong broccoli smell, i thought he would reject it. However, the last cube of pumpkin he rejected, I guess he knows that was not very fresh anymore.

For fruits, he continue to eat pear. However we let him tried Avocado, banana & papaya. He does not really like papaya but banana & Avocado was OKay.

Ben is still allergic to sweet potato i think. We fed him sweet potato one morning and he had rashes on his back, after 3 days still there, but no fever, so we did not bring him to see doctor. I really hope is not because of my self cleansing (reiki) that cause him the rashes.

Today he tried salmon, he likes it :) We were having dinner at ZiPangu just now.

Ben's 1st Taste

We brought ben for his monthly injection when he was 5 months 2 weeks, I've asked dr. musa if i can feed ben solid because ben does not drink alot of milk. Dr. said sure, not a problem, even ask me to let him eat fish, but have to blend it. I was thinking "fish? i thought only 7 months can eat??" hm... so i prepare his 1st solid & feed him the following week. At 5 months 3 weeks, ben started solid.

1. Sweet Potato was his 1st food. He has diarrhoea after 6 hours, poor boy. Luckily not very bad... he purge for 3 times i think, after 12 hours it stops. Phew... My sister said because his digestive system is not matured yet. So we stop solid after that one and only feed.

2. at 6 months 2 weeks, i've started him with Butternut squash & pear. Both are OK. Nothing happen

3. After 4 days of butternut squash, we feed ben carrots. He had fever after 30min of the feed. Now i don't know if the carrots cause him fever or the influenza jap he took yesterday. sigh.... My boy is really a 'xiao jie'

This week i'm gonna make pumpkin & apple. If there is sweet potato selling at justlife, i will want to puree it as well for next week use. Want to give it another try!

Ben loves the pear puree very much. I add water & he drink it one shot 2oz, after that still can drink 1.5oz milk! not bad....

Butter Garlic Mushrooms

I never thought i need to look into what to cook for my kid or to worry that they won't eat what my mum & maid cook for her. Well, i think the time has come & i need to spend sometime 'thinking' what to cook for Andrea. Hope adding variety to her daily meal would get her into eating well again. Hope that i will not get myself into trouble too! haha... everytime new meal will die man....

1st dish i add to my maid's main course is this Garlic Mushrooms, Sadly, Andrea does not even want to taste a bit. Well me and hubby eat it all and it tasted yummy.

Ingredient:
White button mushrooms (sliced it)
Garlic
Butter

Put butter in the frying pan & melt it, add garlic to fry till golden brown. add Mushrooms, no need to add water as the mushroom will extract the water from inside when it's cooked. Just before you off the fire, add a pinch of sea salt. Ready to serve.
